About Hogai

I’m an experienced educator with a passion for learning. My teaching journey includes roles in DC Public Schools, Fairfax County Public Schools, and various universities, where I’ve cultivated a diverse classroom environment. Currently, I serve as a professorial lecturer at George Washington University, where I continue to inspire students and share my love for learning. My diverse experiences shape my approach to teaching, fostering curiosity and a global perspective in my students. Fun fact: traveled to over 50 countries.

As a tutor, my approach is centered on personalized learning, fostering engagement, and building confidence in my students. Here’s a breakdown of my teaching method and techniques:

Teaching Method and Techniques
I use a combination of inquiry-based learning and adaptive teaching strategies. This means I encourage students to ask questions and explore concepts deeply while adapting my methods to fit their unique learning styles. I utilize visual aids, hands-on activities, and real-world examples to make learning relevant and relatable.

Typical Lesson Plan

What Sets Me Apart
I graduated from the University of Cambridge and Johns Hopkins University. I was a former Fulbright and LEE policy fellow. I have a wide set of educational and work experiences that set me apart.

Target Audience
I tutor a range of students, from young children to college level, covering all areas in English: reading, writing, and speaking.

Overall, my goal is to empower students to take ownership of their learning journey and to help them develop skills that will benefit them long-term.

There is no better educator than Hogai - honestly - she has the knowledge of a PhD and a perfected approach for young minds and adults alike. Her approach meets the student at their level and she tailors her approach to the way the student needs to learn but she brings all the best practices and methodologies for true growth and learning. We were so nervous with our son but he not only loved her learning style but everything clicked for him.
