About Alex
I am an experienced Spanish instructor with university-level teaching experience in beginner, intermediate, conversation, and specialized Spanish courses. I love helping students feel more comfortable and confident in Spanish, whether they are just starting out or looking to strengthen skills they already have.
I bring a patient, and supportive approach to every lesson. I know that learning a language can feel challenging at times, so I work hard to create a positive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes.
My lessons are personalized and focused on each student’s goals. I can help with conversation practice, grammar, class support, pronunciation, writing, and overall confidence in using Spanish. My goal is not only to help students improve, but also to make the learning process engaging and encouraging.

I take a supportive, and personalized approach to tutoring. My goal is to help students build confidence in Spanish while also developing strong skills in speaking, listening, reading, and writing. I adapt each lesson to the student’s needs, whether they are learning Spanish for school, travel, work, conversation, or personal growth.
My teaching methodology combines clear explanation, guided practice, and meaningful communication. I break down grammar in a way that is easy to understand, then help students use it in real-life contexts through conversation, reading, writing, and listening activities. I believe students learn best when they feel comfortable making mistakes, asking questions, and practicing actively rather than just memorizing rules.
A typical lesson usually includes a brief review of previous material, introduction of a new concept or skill, guided practice, and then communicative activities to help the student apply what they have learned. Depending on the student’s goals, lessons may focus more on conversation, grammar support, pronunciation, writing, reading comprehension, or exam and class preparation. I also like to include authentic materials when appropriate so students can connect Spanish to real-life use.
What sets me apart is that I have extensive experience teaching Spanish at the university level, including beginner, intermediate, conversation, and specialized Spanish courses. I tailor lessons carefully to each learner and aim to create a positive, encouraging environment where students can progress at their own pace. I am especially good at explaining grammar clearly, helping students feel less intimidated by speaking, and supporting learners who want both structure and flexibility.
My lessons are for a wide range of students, including beginners, intermediate learners, university students, adult learners, heritage learners, and anyone looking to improve their confidence in Spanish. I can help with general Spanish, conversation practice, grammar review, academic support, and professional or specialized goals depending on the student’s needs.
