About Maria
As a recent PhD graduate in Mathematics at the University of Edinburgh. In addition, I pursued an MSc in Financial Modelling and Optimization at the same university in 2017/2018. Presently, I work as a quantitative researcher, specializing in insurance and climate change analysis.
While I am not a native speaker, I have lived and studied in Spain for over ten years and consider myself proficient in the language. Fortunately, I get a chance to pratice since I regularly visit my family in Madrid.
My lifelong passion for mathematics drives me to inspire others to share the same love for the subject. Though I also have a deep appreciation for Spanish, and am happy to assist others in perfecting their conversational skills.

My aim is to provide support to students who are struggling with Spanish and Math by offering doubt-solving sessions. Specifically, for students preparing for A-levels, we will work together to solve past exam papers, with a focus on the most challenging questions. Alternatively, if they are interested in the theoretical aspects, we can delve deeper into those topics. For younger students, we will review class topics in greater detail to identify any difficulties they may be experiencing.
I can also provide support in Spanish: we will engage in conversations on various topics to help students get a sense of the language as something they will use in the future, not just as a school subject.
