About Alyson
I am an NSERC CGSD scholar with 10+ years of chemistry education under my belt. I’ve been a teaching assistant for over 7 years and have taken several workshops in pedagogy. My first position as course instructor was Fall 2025 when I taught CHEM 495: Advanced Molecular Characterization at Concordia University.
My research focuses on the electronic structure of bioinorganic intermediates in aerobic oxidations and sustainable catalysis. I am an expert in electrochemistry, magnetism, and computational chemistry. I am also very knowledgeable about molecular spectroscopy.

I have a holistic approach to teaching, assuming very little prior knowledge to fill any gaps you may have. My favorite way to teach is by working through examples together, where we can bounce ideas around to help you learn how to approach similar problems independently.
