About Ricardo

Hi!

My name is Ricardo and I am a university philosophy Professor, passionate about sharing philosophical understandings of the world and who can help you in your educational, philosophical or other goals as a tutor in Philosophy. This includes Critical Thinking, Philosophy of Science, Philosophy of Mind, Epistemology, Metaphysics, Political Philosophy and Ethics for secondary and university levels.

I was educated at the University of Vermont in the US, where I specialized in Philosophy, History and Psychology, and I hold a PhD from the University of Canterbury in New Zealand. I have published amply in peer-reviewed Philosophy and Social Science journals and look forward to helping you in your educational and philosophical goals.

About the lesson

Philosophy is not just a bunch of words to store, but a way of reasoning, seeing, feeling and acting that can help individuals navigate the complexities of the world around them. My job is to help you engage with the concepts, theories, arguments and applications that have guided philosophical thinking and put them to use for your classes at school and university (or any other goal you might have). This includes helping you improve your essays or other assignments. I tailor my tutoring sessions to the needs of what the student wants to know, improve or treat.

Currently only available on-line by Zoom or otherwise, but probably physically in Melbourne in a few months!
