About Johanna

I hold a PhD in the Social Sciences and have taught several classes in Statistics and Quantitative Methods in Social Sciences at the Bachelor's and Master's levels. I enjoy breaking down the seemingly complex and dry matter of statistics into digestible pieces and instill this light-bulb moment in my students when they realize that they finally understand statistics.

About the lesson

Overwhelmed with your stats class? I am here to still your fears with all these unfamiliar terms and expressions your stats teacher throws at you.

Depending on your needs, I explain to you the intuition behind:

- Descriptive and inferential statistics
- Levels of measurement
- Frequency tables and crosstabulation (contingency tables)
- Graphs (e.g., histograms, box plots,..)
- Distributions (e.g., sampling distribution, normal distribution, chi2 distribution)
- the Central Limit Theorem
- Hypothesis testing (T-test, F-test,...)
- Confidence intervals
- Correlation
- Regression
- or any other topics conventionally covered by introductory or intermediate classes.

Further, I help you coming to terms with the required statistical software like Stata, R, Mplus, or SPSS. That is, I guide you through various data analysis exercises where you will learn, step by step, how to set up your software, how to conduct the analysis, and how to interpret the output of your analysis.
