About Elliot

I am a PhD-qualified Sport Scientist and currently work as a Data Analyst at a Premier League football club. My career combines advanced academic research with applied experience at the highest level of professional sport. I have taught undergraduate and postgraduate students in sport science, exercise physiology, and biomechanics, as well as providing support in research methods and statistics (R, Excel). My goal is to make complex concepts simple, relevant, and practical. I specialise in helping students improve their academic performance, gain confidence with data analysis, and successfully complete their dissertations or theses. Students who work with me benefit from both academic expertise and real-world applied knowledge, ensuring they are fully prepared for exams, coursework, and professional careers in sport and science.

About the lesson

My Approach to Tutoring: I take a student-centred and practical approach, focusing on clear explanations, applied examples, and building confidence. I break down complex concepts (such as biomechanics, physiology, or data analysis) into manageable steps, always linking theory to real-world sport and research. My teaching style is interactive. I ask questions, use case studies, and encourage students to apply ideas themselves. For data/statistics, I use hands-on examples (R, Excel) so students not only understand the theory but can also apply it to their coursework, research projects, or dissertations. Lesson Format: Typical session length: 60–90 minutes (depending on topic and student preference). Structure: quick recap → teaching core concepts → worked examples → student practice → wrap-up with key takeaways. I also set optional follow-up tasks or readings so students consolidate their learning. My Experience & Background: PhD in Sport Science (specialising in data and performance analytics). Currently Data Analyst at a Premier League football club, working daily with applied sport science and athlete monitoring data. Experience teaching and supervising undergraduate students during my PhD. Mentoring postgraduate students in research design, statistical approaches, data interpretation, and academic writing. Who My Lessons Are For Undergraduate and postgraduate students in sport science, physiology, biomechanics. Students in related fields (psychology, health sciences, business, etc.) who need support with statistics and data analysis. Dissertation/thesis students at bachelor’s or master’s level who need guidance in statistical methods, research design, data analysis, and academic writing.
