About Carina
I have been teaching at various levels for over 7 years. When I was a teaching assistant I was helping with big classes (20-30 pupils) and also one to one supervisions. When I was a graduate supervisor I had groups of 6-7 students and I also had a Masters project student. I like to think I helped my students get great grades - my students have always been brilliant and I have learned a great deal from them.

I am currently pursuing a PhD in cosmology at the University of Cambridge. When I was an undergraduate I joined the STIMULUS programme and helped teach maths in schools (secondary + A levels). Later on I supervised 3rd year and Masters students in cosmology.
When I teach I like to follow what the students have learned in class and make them think differently about it. Usually I find that students do understand part of the topics that they are finding difficult but either doubt themselves or are missing one key element that makes everything click in place.
Maths is the type of subject that can be ruined by poor teaching, so I always try to make it approachable and interesting.
