About Andy
I really enjoy helping students reach the point where they feel proud of what they’ve achieved. Watching that confidence grow, when something that once felt impossible finally clicks, is the best part of teaching for me. I want my students to feel capable, not just prepared for exams. My lessons are about building understanding step by step so that every success feels earned and lasting.

I am a PhD student in Biological Sciences, specialising in Neurobiology at the University of Cambridge and hold both an undergraduate and master’s degree in Neuroscience from UCL. I have over three years of tutoring experience in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Mathematics for KS2, GCSE and A-level. My teaching approach is practice-based and highly interactive. I believe the best way to learn is by doing, so I bring exam-style questions and real examples into every session. We solve problems together, breaking down complex concepts into clear, concrete steps. This method not only builds understanding but also teaches students how to think critically and apply knowledge under exam conditions. I offer lessons both online and in person (for students based in Cambridge). Sessions are usually 50 minutes long, which I find ideal for maintaining focus and progress. I can also provide shorter sessions (20–25 minutes with breaks) for younger students or those who learn best in shorter bursts. I’m happy to teach multiple subjects to the same student, for instance, combining Maths and Sciences, and can also help with university and Oxbridge applications, including personal statements and interview preparation. Every student learns differently, so I adapt my teaching to match their goals, pace, and confidence level. My aim is not only to help students achieve top results but to make them genuinely enjoy learning new things.
