About Juliette
I'm very smiley, easy to chat to, patient and encouraging! I prepare very thoroughly for lessons, and I do have high expectations for my students (in that I expect them to put effort into the work that I set for them); but I also want to make lessons fun and interesting - we don't have to be super serious all the time and can have a laugh.
I have 1 years' tutoring experience and have found it incredibly rewarding to see students understand concepts better, become more confident in their academic abilities and improve their grades. I get as much out of tutoring as the student does because it forces me to think about a particular topic from lots of different angles so that I can come up different explanations/analogies that might suit different students. I'm very open to constructive feedback!

Hi! I'm Juliette, I've just graduated top of my cohort from the University of Oxford, having studied Biomedical Sciences, and am starting a PhD in Biological Science at the University of Cambridge.
I mainly teach online, for students aged 14+ in preparation for their Chemistry and Maths GCSE, A level or IB exams, and can also help with university applications. I obtained the highest grades (7/7) in Chemistry and Maths at the IB (A-level equivalent) back in 2019.
I use interactive PowerPoints in lessons, integrating past exam questions throughout, and my approach is focused around helping the student to understand the underlying concepts rather than rote-memorising answers. The lessons are a two-way street, with the student contributing as much as I do, and I can very easily adapt my teaching style to the student's preferences. I tend to go for 1 hour-long lessons but can make these shorter or longer if this would suit the student better.
