About Alessio
I'm a PhD student in Economics and Finance, but my experience with statistics wasn't love at first sight: I, too, at the beginning, stared at pages of formulas, wondering what they really meant. The moment when everything fell into place, when I realized that behind every symbol was a simple idea, is exactly what I want you to experience. I teach because I enjoy it: the most beautiful thing is seeing a student's confidence grow—from those who arrive convinced they're "not gifted" to those who tackle a new exercise without getting stuck. Outside of numbers, I'm a huge fan of football, Formula 1, and trekking :)

I coach undergraduate and graduate students (including those in the medical and healthcare professions sectors) and graduate students who need to pass exams in statistics, econometrics, and time series analysis, or consolidate these methods for their research and dissertations. My approach is based on a principle: most difficulties arise not from the calculations themselves, but from a lack of understanding of what is being estimated and why. That's why I don't just show the formula, but also clarify the underlying logic—whether it's understanding the assumptions of an econometric model or correctly setting up and interpreting a logistic regression and its associated odds ratios in a medical setting. It's the difference between remembering a procedure by heart and knowing how to apply it to a new problem. A typical lesson is structured in three phases: clarification of concepts you're stuck on, guided work through exercises, and targeted review of the most difficult points for the exam. I adapt content and pace to your specific schedule, because every course and every instructor requires different things—from the mathematical rigor required in economics to the more practical and intuitive approach needed for medical statistics. Whether you need to pass an exam or fully understand a topic, the goal is to make you independent, not dependent on tutoring.
