About Yibo
I am a thrid year PhD student in University of Bath. I spent most of my time in my subject in mathematical finance. I have a distinction in master's degree of finance in university of Bath. Beyond my project, I am committed to helping students excel maths and share the beauty of maths.
My interest is to share the knowledge I have in many maths subjects which describe the world neatly, and by teaching students I also would like to communicate with people in subjects such as calculus, statistics, probability and finance. I still remember some classical maths concept such as probability, limit, normal distribution, differential equations, etc., confused me when I was a secondary school student. They are abstract and students are often confused by these concepts so I would like to help them understand by sharing my understanding, also with historical motivation, practical application and practice.
If you wonder why maths is difficult or get confused often by vague explanation in calculus, probability and statistics, do not worry. I will lead you to find the right way to study maths.

I provide personalized support to both A-level and GCSE students in Maths and further maths.
Each lesson lasts 1-2 hour, depending on students' needs, allowing time for instruction, practice, and Q&A. Scheduled will be designed with each student.
My teaching methodology emphasizes understanding concepts deeply and practical application in the real world rather than memorization. I encourage active participation through problem-solving sessions and discussions, fostering a deeper grasp of mathematical principles.
Beyond the exam: I will encourage the student to spare some time to explore the beauty of maths when the student has interested in certain area and will provide relevant further readings. The idea is to build the interest in maths so to help lifetime study, and is proven to be helpful to conquer the fear of frastration when dealing with maths.
