About Stanley
I am a PhD student in Nuclear Engineering at MIT working on x-ray diagnostics for fusion plasmas. I have a B.S. and an M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Tufts University, where I worked as a teaching assistant in controls and robotics courses. After my time at Tufts, and before starting at MIT, I worked for four years in industry as a mechanical engineer. I am excited to help engineering students develop the skills that will help them succeed in both academia and in industry, as well as encouraging younger students who are interested in engineering.

Perfect! Thank you. We worked through the problems and ran out of time. Was an hour well spent.
Perfect! Explains hard concepts well so that I can understand. Great availability. Clear communication. Very knowledgeable on Dynamics.
- Jen is a great student, very attentive and a pleasure to work with.Stanley's response :
Excellent! Stanley has a deep understanding of high-level concepts and can go through step-by-step derivations of formulae which enhances the learning experience. If you are someone who sees everything as math and need derivations, go with Stanley.
- Kyle is a good student to work with, he comes to lessons prepared and does not procrastinate on his work.Stanley's response :

I have nothing but the highest praise for Stan as a tutor. He has tutored me through physics 1, physics 2, and MCAT math concepts for the past year. As a non-traditional premedical student, I found the physics 1 and 2 courses, as well as the MCAT Chem/Phys section to be my greatest obstacles in pursuing a career path in medicine.
I was nervous working with a nuclear engineering PhD student at MIT because it had been 10 years since I had taken a math course. I couldn't remember most of my basic arithmetic and trig, but Stan was wonderfully patient and did not mind revisiting basic concepts with me. While I have yet to take the MCAT, I received As in Physics 1 and 2 in my premedical program. Working with Stan has helped my GPA and my self-confidence when it comes to math and physics.
I used to think that I was "not a math person", but Stan has helped me see that with patience and work, anyone can be a "math person" and I couldn't be more grateful.
I look forward to working with him until I take the MCAT and highly recommend him as a math/physics tutor for the premedical requirements and MCAT prep.I highly recommend Stan for anyone struggling with introductory college physics. He effortlessly breaks down complex concepts, making them easy to understand, and always ensures I grasp the material fully. Stan's enthusiasm and patience have boosted my confidence and significantly improved my grades. He is the best!
