About Mohamad
I originally set out to become a medical doctor, but after not securing a place at medical school on my first university entrance exam, I took the exam again the following year. In that period, I discovered what physics truly is about and earned a place at the top technical university in my home country to study physics. During my final undergraduate year, I somewhat reluctantly enrolled in experimental physics courses and unexpectedly found the field I wanted to pursue long-term. For my master’s studies, I moved to Dresden, Germany, where I focused on Organic and Molecular Electronics. My application to MIT was unsuccessful, but I was subsequently admitted to the University of Cambridge to pursue a PhD in Physics, which proved to be a far better fit. A few months into my PhD, I began tutoring undergraduate students. My approach is shaped by the mindset that rescued me during my own studies: physics must make sense. I teach from the bottom up, starting from clear, mutually understood concepts and building them step by step into the mathematical tools and advanced ideas needed to describe nature. At its core, physics is about understanding how the world works, and I aim to make that understanding accessible.

• I combine a bottom-up and a top-down approach, meaning that I construct complicated physical concepts using intuitive, bite-sized, simple, and agreed-upon concepts (i.e., bottom-up). At the same time, and to give a better perspective, I teach the same subject by starting from the complicated concept, and I break it down into digestible, easy-to-grasp little concepts (i.e., top-down). • Each lesson will approximately take 1 to 1.5 hours. • I have over a year of experience tutoring undergraduate students and lecturing to visiting high school students in Cambridge. • My lessons are suitable for high school, middle school, and university students.
