About Johan
I'm now a PhD student in Materials science. My previous study covers the subjects of fundamental science and engineering (mainly mehanics and metallurgy), what's more, I'm willing to continue learning new knowledge. Therefore, I'm probably able to teach all the courses for fundamental science at undergraduate levels or below.

My teaching methodology primarily focuses on comprehension. There is probably knowledge gap between tutor and student, in order to help the students to understand the new knowledge without obstacle, I will imagine I myself as a novice, regardless of how much knowledge I have already, and think about what difficulties and questions I have when I start learning the new knowledge, which can be correlated with applied to my students. This approach might facilitate the students to well understand and accommodate the new knowledge.
Another my teaching methodology is exemplification which aims at learning and understanding in a natural way. Many mathematical and physical models, for example, correspond with our daily life, therefore, it might be easier for the students to understand complicated knowledge by taking practical examples.
Finally, no matter what methodology is used, a huge amount of patience should be emphasized for teaching new students, as a qualified tutor.
