About Ashley
I am a PhD student studying ethnomusicology at the University of Texas at Austin. Prior to starting my PhD, I studied music performance and anthropology. My primary instrument area is percussion, but have also studied piano, guitar, and a variety of woodwind instruments. In addition to being a musician, my studies have also required me to extensively study foreign languages, so I also know Turkish, Kurdish, Persian, and Swedish.
