About Abby
Hola, todos! My name is Abby and I am a 26-year-old female fluent in both English & Spanish. I started studying Spanish when I was in elementary school and I haven't stopped studying and practicing the language since! During high school, I volunteered in the country of El Salvador where I translated in a medical unit for the American doctors that were working there. I then went on to study Spanish at Emory University (a top 20 university) and graduated with my Bachelor's in Public Health and Spanish with a 4.0 GPA. I also wrote my undergraduate thesis in Spanish, which was reviewed, awarded, and published. During my time at Emory University, I studied abroad in Buenos Aires, Argentina as well as in Santiago, Chile. I worked as a medical translator in a hospital in Buenos Aires and as an English teacher in a school in Chile. Upon my return to the USA, I worked as a medical translator in Grady Hospital in Atlanta, GA, and tutored middle school and high school-aged kids in Spanish. I have been tutoring Spanish online now for more than 6 years and have students ranging from 4 years old to 65 years old. I love tutoring all ages and Spanish levels whether it's learning the basics of Spanish or wanting to become more conversationally fluent! I am currently a second-year PhD student studying bilingual (English/Spanish) child psychology. As a PhD student, I have a flexible schedule so please feel free to reach out about scheduling!
