About Tim
Whilst analytical thinking has been the cornerstone of my career, this did not come easy to me. Often I would work through puzzles for hours until one final element "clicked". There are hundreds of proofs of Pythagoras, and it may be just one of them that unlocks the mystery of a student. I have tutored students at both secondary school and university level as well as worked as a supply teacher at a US International school (10-18). I have worked in computing most of my time, and feel this can help bring abstract concepts down to earth.

Analytical thinking is very much a skill that can be taught, but no one size fits all. Too often, students can be left behind in classroom settings. A more tailored approach though, one that takes into account the individual's ability, personality, and background, can however, work wonders. I treat every student as first and foremost an individual talent requiring patience and attention on my part to fully unlock. For me, the very best part of the job is to see the "A-ha!" reaction when a student understands a concept for the first time and see their confidence build.
