About Philip

- What kind of experience do you have?

During my time in academia, I taught and enjoyed teaching undergraduate level chemistry, in tutorials and practical classes. I have taught within internationally recognized institutions at a variety of levels.
Over the last few years I have been teaching chemistry in the private sector and have enjoyed great success.

I have a number of present and past students I have helped. I am more than happy to provide contact details for these and their parents for you to get some feedback from them.

About the lesson

I am an organic chemist employed within the pharmaceutical industry. I have a passion for the chemical sciences and education. I am capable of inspiring interest in my subject and have a track record of getting results.

I teach A level (OCR, AQA, Salters), IB Chemistry, HEFC Chemistry and Undergraduate Chemistry.

- Tell me about your qualifications.

I have a Ph.D in Organic Chemistry from UCL.
I have a 1st Class Chemistry Degree from The University of Bristol

- How much do you charge?

My fee is £20 per hour.

- Where do you teach?

I am happy to tutor from students' homes, my home or from the central library in Newcastle upon Tyne.

- When are you available?

I can tutor Mon-Fri after 5pm
Saturdays and Sundays 10 am-6pm

- Which ages and levels do you teach?

I teach A level (OCR, AQA, Salters), IB Chemistry, HEFC Chemistry and Undergraduate Chemistry.

- Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?

A level Chemistry (OCR, AQA, Salters), IB Chemistry, HEFC Chemistry and Undergraduate Chemistry.

- Describe your arrangements for online tutoring.

I offer online tuition using skype.

- Do you have a personal message for students?

I understand that the complexity of chemistry can be overwhelming. I have a firm belief that mastering the very basic principles on which the subject is built is the key to training the mind to understand the more complex aspects of the subject.
