About Neal
I first got into Philosophy way back in high school. My first encounter was with the Stoics, but, of course, stoicism was presented as a lived practice, not a philosophical system. I had no idea about the problem that people were accepting Stoicism's beliefs without accepting its metaphysics. From there, I went into theology, and became interested in a number of other philosophical topics.

I help students understand philosophy clearly and confidently. We work through arguments step by step, focus on what ideas mean, and make complex topics feel manageable. I don't want you to trivially be able to recite a framework's core principles, I want you to be able to tell me its truth-conditions, practical implications, and entailments. Whether it’s ethics, free will, or writing philosophy papers, I tailor sessions to your needs and help your thinking click!
