About Alona
Hello! My name is Alona, and I am a dedicated tutor passionate about helping young students discover that learning can be both clear and fun.
Having worked as an educational tutor in structured community literacy and learning programs—such as Tara, Basa! and Save the Children—I have extensive experience working with young learners. My primary goal is to create a friendly, encouraging, and organized space where students feel safe to ask questions, learn from their mistakes, and build genuine confidence in their abilities.
I understand that subjects like math can sometimes feel overwhelming or intimidating. That is why I specialize in breaking down tricky topics into simple, bite-sized steps using clear language, visual examples, and engaging activities. Whether your child needs help building solid foundational skills or simply needs an extra boost of confidence to excel in class, I am committed to guiding them every step of the way with patience, care, and structured support.

I believe math doesn't have to be boring or scary! My goal is to make learning fun, clear, and easy to understand. I break big, confusing math problems into tiny, simple steps so students never feel overwhelmed.
We use visual tools, math puzzles, and fun real-life examples so numbers make sense. In my class, there are no "wrong" questions. Making mistakes is just part of learning, and we celebrate every small win!
Having worked as a tutor in community learning programs (like Tara, Basa! and Save the Children), I know how to be super patient and gentle with young learners.
