I want to inspire you to go beyond making the kinds of pictures that everyone else makes. I'm not the kind of teacher who is going to tell you exactly how to make that same photograph of the eiffel tower that everyone else makes. I AM the kind of teacher who is going to ask you what a trip to Paris means to you and how we can translate that feeling into your images and experiences. You can expect me to challenge you creatively and ask a lot of questions. We will go over the technical skill sets just as much as we do the aesthetic principals. I want your images to look and feel like you made them.
I fell in love with photography back in my high school days. My teacher secretly gave me a copy of the key to access the darkroom whenever I pleased because she said "she couldn't stop what she was doing every single time I wanted to get in there"... which was everyday at any chance I could. I graduated from Brooks Institute of Photography with my Bachelors degree. I have been teaching photography ever since. I've always used film. I still work in a darkroom to this day and my 35mm rarely stays home behind me. As much as I love analog photography, I still have a soft spot for digital photography as well. With all the fun digital tools we have these days, there is so much to explore. Truth be told, I love photography. Simple as that.
