About Steven
I have a PhD in theoretical and computational chemistry and am currently employed as a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Ottawa. My main research interests are mechanistic modeling of organic and organometallic reactions and applications of machine learning in chemistry.
I have also been employed as a lecturer at Lakehead University teaching physical chemistry.

My approach to teaching is to emphasize the underlying concepts in as straightforward a manner as possible. I typically start by asking students what topics they are struggling with the most and beginning there. A typical class involves introducing the topic in a very general way and using examples to introduce important details or key concepts.
