About Liam
Hi, I'm Liam and I'm a second year Physics and Astrophysics student at the University of Sheffield, a recipient of their Scholarship of Distinction Award, and have completed a research visit at UCL specialising in Machine Learning. During A-levels, I tutored GCSE and other A-level students in my final year for Maths, Further Maths, and Computer Science. I found the experience really rewarding seeing their abilities and confidence increase.

I like to teach starting from first principles and building up and find that it provides the best understanding of the subject content. I typically will work through problems with my students to the exam specifications to ensure they are properly prepared. My teaching resources include a mix of both questions from past papers and my own resources that conform to a similar style. Of course, I'm an active learner too and will adjust my lessons to best suit my student's learning style. The introductory lesson will normally provide a gauge of my students' abilities and areas for improvement. In my typical lessons, I like to work through the problems with my students but also ensure that they are confident with the theory and mechanisms at play (particularly for physics) as it allows for a stronger intuition not only in the exams but going forward should they wish to pursue a job in that sector.
