About Alfonso

My name is Alfonso Castillo, and I am pursuing my Ph.D. in Physics at the University of Houston. I graduated with a degree in Engineering Physics and completed a Master's in Applied Physics. I also had the honor of representing Mexico in the XXI Ibero-American Physics Olympiad, which has given me a deep understanding of topics related to Physics, Programming, and Mathematics.

I decided to offer tutoring to help more students overcome their fear of the sciences, which unfortunately is sometimes not taught in the right way, leading to fear and confusion. I enjoy teaching from the fundamentals so that students see that it's not difficult, and it can even be enjoyable with simple examples, programs to understand the concepts, etc.

I have been providing private tutoring for some time, and I decided to join this platform to extend my help to other students in need.

As a physics Olympiad teacher once told me: 'The best way to know that you understand something is to teach it.'

About the lesson

The classes will be completely personalized for each student. I will assess the approaches they are being taught in school and, based on that, find the best way to help them understand the fundamentals through tailor-made exercises and interactive sessions.

The classes are aimed at students ranging from high school to the last semesters of university in engineering-related disciplines.

Sessions can also be utilized for assistance with projects or assignments.

The classes will be conducted on Teams, Zoom, Google Meet, or any similar platform of the student's choice.

The courses we can cover include, but are not limited to:

Mathematics: Linear algebra, probability and statistics, differential and integral calculus, differential equations, vector analysis, complex variables, mathematical methods, etc.

Physics: General physics, classical mechanics, thermodynamics, quantum mechanics, solid-state physics, modern physics, electromagnetism, nuclear physics, astrophysics, fluid mechanics, aerodynamics, electric circuits, computational physics, statistical mechanics, medical physics, etc.

Programming, electronics, and computer science: Structured programming, object-oriented programming, advanced programming tools, 3D drawing, numerical methods, data science, machine learning, instrumentation, analog electronics, digital electronics, prototyping, computer vision, etc.
