About Jose

Among other things, I am a passionate teacher. I live in with my family (2 children and a beautiful wife). I love dogs, cats, horses, motorcycles, and a lot of nature. In my academic life, I graduated in physics and completed my Ph.D. in mechanical engineering. I participated in technological projects related to engineering, published papers, books and others. I have been teaching for undergrad and high school courses, covering subjects such as basic physics (mechanics, fluids, thermodynamics, electricity, and magnetism), fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, materials resistance, differential and integral calculus I and III, as well as postgraduate courses (petroleum and gas engineering). In the market, I was able to work in well drilling, where I founded the company 'Otima Perfuracoes'. I wrote books and articles in the field of oil and gas, in addition to international living, work and studies (Canada and the USA). I hope I may help you to achieve your main objectives.

I'll guide you to study smarter and learn faster, applying the ultralearning method (Scott Young) and boost the way you learn. - Relaxed and personalized, taking into account the student's prior knowledge, as well as their needs and planning. - It lasts 55 minutes (the rest I use to prepare the material to send to the student, such as the class video, tasks, lists, prints of screen and others. - They are done via Google Meet or Zoom, where I share the screen to show simulators, experimental videos and exercise solutions. - They are carried out using a graphics tablet to solve questions and exercise lists. - They can be at undergrad or high school level, - Dynamics - Thermodynamics - Fluid Mechanics - Mechanics - SHM - Optics - Electromagnetism - Circuits - Waves - Energy I will help you to identify all your potential. I am waiting for you.

  • When did you develop an interest in your chosen field and in private tutoring?

I have always been involved in studies. I completed my bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees (finished in 2013), and I have always taught at higher education and basic education institutions. With the advancement of technology, I am now able to deliver work of excellent quality, providing individualized support.
  • Tell us more about the subject you teach, the topics you like to discuss with students (and possibly those you like a little less).

In recent years, I have been more dedicated to high school education, teaching physics and technology and innovation. I have noticed that students' motivation has changed significantly in recent years, and individualized support contributes to helping students stay focused. In this regard, I've been teaching subject as statistics, basic math, calculus, mechanics, dynamics, fluid mechanics, thermodynamics and physics like waves, SHM, electromagnetism, circuits, rotational movements and optics.
  • Did you have any role models; a teacher that inspired you?

I draw a lot of inspiration from the new STEM teaching method, given that my undergraduate degree was in physics and my doctoral degree was in mechanical engineering. In this model, I can easily integrate the core concepts of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. I believe that the new generation of teachers and students will be linked to this teaching method.
  • What do you think are the qualities required to be a good tutor?

I think a good teacher should initially understand the student's motivation to study. The technology we have today is very different from what we had five years ago; everything is changing rapidly. Working on motivation in an individualized manner, understanding the virtues, values, and weaknesses of the student, should be the primary focus. Furthermore, it is always interesting to use the various online tools, ranging from conducting experiments to solving textbook questions.
  • Provide a valuable anecdote related to your subject or your days at school.

I have two children and a cat, and they always show up on my webcam during classes.
  • What were the difficulties or challenges you faced or still facing in your subject?

I have been through many difficulties as a student; it was not easy at all because the technology we have today was not available. In addition to the curriculum, as I lived in the countryside, I always missed my family.
  • Do you have a particular passion? Is it teaching in general or an element of the subject or something completely different?

My first great passion is my family. With the online classes I can now manage to balance work, leisure, and family. I learned to make craft beer, which has become a hobby, in addition to horseback riding and off-road motorcycles.
  • What makes you a Superprof (besides answering this interview questions :-P)?

It's strange to think about it, but it seems that almost everything I did in life directed me here, to be on Superprof platform, teaching physics, mathematics and engineering. Here, I can integrate technology, knowledge, salary, and family, and I think this is like a dream... haha
