About Hazel
I'm a recent physics graduate from the University of Oxford and have always enjoyed teaching. I've been tutoring professionally for many years and find helping people understand maths extremely rewarding. From my years of tutoring, I've experience with many different learning styles and I'm practised in finding explanations that work for each individual.

My sessions are all about the student so they change each time.
I deliver lessons (normally 1 hour) to engage my students, as they will learn more if they are interested. To do this I adapt to different learning styles, and keep the range of activities short (5-15 mins), whilst still working towards understanding one key skill/topic. I help students to visualise the problems, and try to fully understand why we use the method.
Working at a tutor centre for many years has allowed me to teach many different children of differing abilities and approaches to learning, from those with dyslexia/dyspraxia who are struggling in school to high achievers who want more of a challenge. My aim is to help all students see their potential; helping those who find maths frustrating find a new way of understanding and challenging those who find it easier to stretch themselves.
Each lesson is about ensuring the student gets the most out of it!
