I don't think I have an exact teaching method, but I do know that I believe the easiest way to understand anything in science is to have the basic knowledge about what that thing is based on, and how it affects our daily life. This means, I wouldn't just teach you the topic but would explain to you its history, significance and give reasons to why it is the way it is.
