About Dr Nithyadevi
I spent roughly a year teaching introductory physics and nano foundation courses as an assistant professor at one of my home country's prominent engineering colleges, where I also won the best faculty honor.
I have a Ph.D. in Material Science from Bharathiar University in India. My dissertation is titled Biopolymer coated Metal/Metal oxide Core-shell nanoparticles characterization and biological applications (Drug discovery and development method). In addition, I have a master's and a bachelor's degree in physics, and my projects have primarily focused on nanomaterial synthesis and applications.
When I worked at universities in the US and India, I had some experience tutoring and instructing students (UConn Health and Bharathiar University). I spent seven years at Bharathiar University and developed excellent working relationships with both the faculty and the students.
I take a friendly approach to teaching, believing that my students are simply equals who have yet to gain the knowledge I can impart to them. I find this approach helps to break traditional “them” and “us” type barriers between students and their tutors.
I also feel that the students gain more as a result of using this approach, not to mention the satisfaction that the teacher can also gain. I was highly thought of in my previous post, and I know I can repeat my standard as well.
I am sure that my proven ability to manage and maintain the highest standards as a Physics researcher will be of the greatest benefit, and I have confidence that I can make a significant contribution.

I always enjoyed learning any new concept and theory not only through reading but also by solving associated complex problems and simple experiments. Therefore, my teaching methodology always included solving real-life problems and hands-on experience to prepare students for great academic and STEM careers. In my earlier teaching experience and career, I made several changes to the traditional coursework to include aspects of practical components as a new initiative. Students enjoyed my teaching methodology and I continue to practice it with my mentees in my day-to-day research activities in the laboratory setting as a research volunteer. As a teacher, I strongly believe that a solid educational foundation and knowledgebase provide a great toolkit for students to enhance their confidence, and improve their problem-solving capacity and good decision-making. . I always made sure to communicate my expectations to students and to lead by example. In my opinion, teaching is a really gratifying experience since it allows me to further expand my knowledge and help develop the future generation of scientists and engineers for the benefit of society.
