About Peter
I have about 4 years of part-time tutoring experience in St. Louis, MO for a private company and in Edwardsville, IL for SIUE. I have had about 1.5 years of experience with a former, primarily online, tutoring employer. I recently began tutoring for a new online tutoring company.
I have probably tutored about 100 students so far. With one company with 50 students, I was rated as a 5.0 star tutor out of a possible 5.0 stars. My Rating in a new company is 4.5 after about 90 sessions in a few months of work tutoring primarily algebra.
I often tutor honors math HS students and early algebra students. I have tutored calculus 3, differential equations, and discrete math recently.

Learning technical subjects requires problem solving. Concepts are be explained clearly if there is a need. Otherwise, practice is the focus. Active learning is best in any subject. Teaching strategy in test taking is beneficial to many students.
I want to help students learn problematic material. Beating fear of success is possible through sustained small successes. The only real teaching goal is to teach the student everything he or she needs to know so that the tutor is no longer necessary.

Perfect! Peter has helped my daughter in vector calculus and differential equations. He has helped with homework problems, test preparation, and concept understanding. All together Peter's tutoring has had a great benefit for her. I expect he would be equally beneficial in calculus and physics. Oh, I almost forgot; probably the most important tutoring Peter provided was in Matlab programming. That helped a lot too.
- My student is Lara, Eric's daughter. I really enjoyed working with Lara. She is very pleasant and kind, and a very fast learner.Peter's response :
