About Daniel
I am PhD student in Physics at McGill University. BSc and MSc in Mechanical Engineering at State University of Rio de Janeiro (UERJ). I have been Teaching Assistant in the Physics Department for two years and I have taught a Numerical Methods for Mechanical Engineers back in Brazil during Masters.
Currently, my research is physics and computational modelling of phase transformations in materials science, and my interests lie on: Mathematical modeling of pattern formation in complex systems, Nonequilibrium thermodynamics, Phase Field (PF) and Phase Field Crystal (PFC) modelling, and Solid-state phase transformations.

My approach is to intersperse theory and practice to enhance learning experience throughout the topics: Calculus, Differential Equations, Numerical Methods, Computational Modelling. Other topics: Classical Mechanics, Thermodynamics, Fluid Mechanics, Materials Science, and basic programming.
Content will always be straightforward and delivered through slides, notes, codes, and exercises, with proper references. Personalized approaches can always be discussed as well.
