About Charles
I taught advanced high school physics (AP) and mathematics for 22 years. I added to my B.S. in physics a M.S. and Ph.D. in physics. Along the way I taught astronomy for five terms at Pasco Hernando State College and tutored students for the physics section of the MCAT. Students have returned to tell me how my instruction even helped them in later courses.

Students need to gain both subject knowledge and subject confidence. First, my open enthusiasm for the subject tends to lighten the atmosphere and promote student ease. Next, my instructional experience has taught me to find and respect each student's initial level of knowledge and confidence and then start from where the student IS, not from where I might expect them to be. Different student backgrounds and cultural experience may dictate the use of different teaching approaches.
