About Tonya
I am an adult learner. I have a child in high school and one in elementary school that also has special needs. I have seen firsthand how much one-on-one instruction gives them the confidence to ask questions without feeling self-conscious or embarrassed that they do not immediately understand what seems to come naturally to their peers. Even my own education has moved forward only with supplemental instruction.
I believe that the best way to improve our world is through education and learning. Whether you choose me or another tutor, just know that I think that you are brave and making an important and intelligent decision by asking for help.

Learning, like people, comes in all shapes and sizes. My lessons are formed to fit individual needs and may include visual, audio, and hands-on learning. A typical lesson will last from 15 minutes to 1 hour depending on your schedule and needs.
As a student myself, I understand that we all need help sometimes. I have found that one-on-one instruction holds the greatest potential for success as it removes many of the hurdles students face when struggling with a subject or concept. It's just you and me, and we both want to learn.
