About Charlie
I study Physics at university level so tutoring KS3, GCSE and A-Level students will not only benefit the tutees but consolidate my knowledge of the subjects and provide me with invaluable life skills. I achieved A*AA grades in Maths, Chemistry and Physics at A-Level and it would be extremely rewarding to see tutees achieve high grades and get into their dream colleges or universities.
In sixth form, I volunteered to assist teachers in year 10 and 11 maths lessons. I helped students with specific questions as they worked through tasks, checked their work and explained concepts in order to help them gain a deeper understanding of maths as well as knowing how to maximise marks.
During the summer between my A-Level years of study, I organised work experience at the University of Birmingham’s Biophysics department, which helped to improve my scientific communication skills. I was taught concepts beyond my A Level syllabus by experts such as research professors and PHD students. My time spent in the lab showed me how important it is to be constantly learning in any potential career, which is why I would consider a tutoring job the perfect fit.

I will prepare worked solutions to practice questions sourced from past papers, revision guides and textbooks which I will ask the students to attempt during tutoring sessions.
Working closely with the student, I will individualise these sessions and base the questions around their specific areas of weakness. I aim to familiarise the student with what the examiner wants as well as to inspire an interest and deep understanding of the subject.
Lessons will last an hour and the student will be expected to identify areas to work on prior to the session. I recommend this so that each student goes into their exams feeling confident and prepared for whatever may come up.
