About Kika
I am a Physics graduate from The University of Manchester that has been working with children and young people for 8 years in various settings. I started tutoring 5 years ago. Thanks to my experience in character education all of my students not only achieve better academic results but also notice an increase in self-confidence. I have knowledge of KS2, KS3, GCSE and A-Level Maths and Physics curriculums.
I m also a fluent Portuguese speaker and available to give lessons in Portuguese :)

My teaching approach is to start by giving a chance for the student to talk about any concerns and difficulties they might have while establishing together with the student any previous knowledge on the subject. After this, I choose to either go through the theory and practical implications of it or to go straight to tackling specific exercises. When going through the theory I use different resources (games, solved problems, visual experiments) with the aim of introducing some practical strategies to help the student approach the subject and tackle major misconceptions. Depending on the subject and the student (eg. secondary school level maths student) I provide extra exercises as homework to consolidate their learning.
