About James
My name is James. I have just finished my first year studying Physics at Imperial College. I have always been fascinated by the science of learning and how different people learn better using alternative methods. As part of my course next year, I will have the chance to work as a teaching assistant in a local school where I will learn new ways to approach teaching.
My goal behind tutoring and teaching is to ignite a passion for science and maths, subjects that carry a reputation for being not the most interesting. I believe my unconventional approach to said subjects will help remove that label.

I believe the best way to learn a topic is not memorising formulas and methods but by understanding the reasoning behind each step. My lessons will focus on breaking down the problem and building it up clearly and logically. We will approach each situation from a new viewpoint, dictating each step as we go so that the ideas and concepts are remembered, not just the formula.
The lessons will last between one to two hours, dependent on availability, ranging from GCSE to A-Level (years 10-13).
