About Laura
I fell in love with piano as a child and I’ve been playing it for 20 years. I took lessons in middle school and high school, and I was taught with the Alfred's Basic Piano Library series. I've taught multiple children using this series, and am currently using it with my daughter. I’ve composed many of my own songs and I'm constantly expanding my own knowledge of piano and music theory. I maintain professionalism and I'm very passionate about helping children develop a love of piano and music in general. I expect students to give their best effort, and I strongly encourage daily piano practice. I remind them not to be hard on themselves, but to be patient with and kind to themselves. They’re learning a new skill, which takes time and effort, and it is well worth it! I get to know a student to help them feel more at ease during lessons. My first lesson with a student is usually going to include discussion on what led them to piano, fun icebreaker activities, and/or piano crafts and games for younger children. (concealed information)

***Lessons are 30 minutes in duration and cost is $35.
I teach students piano using the Alfred's Basic Piano Library series. The series uses the interval-based reading method. I make every lesson fun because I'm a firm believer that when kids have fun while learning, they'll retain what they learn a lot better!
I start new students on Alfred’s books that are based on their age and current musical knowledge.
I work at my student’s pace! Each student is unique.
My lessons are for children ages 4-12. This includes children just beginning piano, as well as children who have a couple years experience already.

Perfect! Laura spent a great deal of time with me discussing the options for my child's first lessons, and my daughter hit it off with her right away when they met! Laura was very well-prepared with lesson planning, materials, and fun activities, and she tailored the curriculum to my daughter's skill level, interests, and personality. My daughter is so excited to go back!
