About Sixuan
Sixuan Zhang began studying piano at the age of five. At the age of thirteen, she went to the middle school attached to the Xi’an Conservatory of Music. During this time, she won the first prize in the New York International Music Festival & Competition and Gold prize in Odyssiad International Music Festival. She also won the Yamaha scholarship for 2018 & 2016. Currently, she completes her Bachelor’s degree at the Queens College Copland School of Music, where she studied with Ming Fong. She was the winner of the ACSM concerto competition and performed the Liszt Concerto No. 1 with the ACSM orchestra in LeFrak Hall. This past March, Sixuan successfully completed her degree recital and Basalm Trio recital in LeFrak Hall. She is currently pursuing her Master Degree at the Mannes School of Music. Sixuan started her career of piano teaching in 2018. She has 5 years of experience teaching piano. Her students have passed a variety of piano level exams, including ABRSM grade 8, NYSSMA grade 10, central conservatory of music piano exam grade 10, and China conservatory of music exam. Her students won the New York International competition, PACIFIC Stars piano competition, and also the Chopin Young Pianist competition.
