About Benjamin
Hi! My name is Benjamin, but you can call me Benjy. I have been playing piano since I was 10 years old - where I learned from a regular old classical piano teacher. But I hated it. She taught me how to play classical music, but I wanted to play the music I was hearing on the radio. I didn't care about Für Elise or Mozart, I wanted to learn Maroon 5. Because of this, I quit. I quit for a while, before picking it up again during COVID. This time though, I taught myself to play by ear. I can now play any song within 5 minutes of hearing it, and I can teach you to do the same! More importantly, you will learn to do this by playing your favorite songs - you pick the song, and then we'll learn to play it. I've been teaching other students for over a year, and I'm confident that you will be able to learn as well.

I've been teaching piano playing by ear for over 1 year, and I'm ready to teach you as well.
My approach is very different from other piano teachers in that I teach you to play piano by ear. This means learning to play songs just by hearing them - no notes needed!
On top of this, I want to make this process as enjoyable as possible for you - so I will tailor our lesson plans to you, and what you want. You'll tell me your favorite songs, and I will model your lessons based on those songs, so that even while you're training, you're also learning how to play your favorite songs on the piano.
My goal is that, by the time I'm done with you - you can play a song on the piano just 15 minutes after hearing it.
I teach students of 10 years old and up, including teenagers and adults. You can be a complete beginner, or an expert classical pianist trying to learn how to play piano by ear - either way, we will get you to achieve your goals.
