About Marina
I bring 11 years of experience teaching piano to learners of many ages and musical backgrounds. I hold a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance and Pedagogy, which gave me a strong foundation in both performance practice and effective teaching methodology. My background has allowed me to work extensively with solo students, duets, ensembles, and collaborative keyboard roles, helping learners feel confident playing with others as well as independently.
My teaching philosophy centres on clarity, patience, and musical connection. I believe students learn best when they feel supported and understood, so I focus on building trust and confidence alongside technique. I guide students through reading skills, rhythmic stability, expressive playing, and performance confidence using practical tools that make learning feel natural rather than overwhelming.
Outside teaching, I remain actively involved in music education, accompaniment, and collaborative performance. These experiences continuously shape my lessons and keep them grounded in real musical situations. Teaching piano is deeply fulfilling for me because I get to watch students grow into expressive, confident musicians who truly enjoy making music and sharing it with others.

My piano lessons are designed to help students feel musically fluent from the very first sessions. I focus on finger independence, coordinated hand movement, reading fluency, rhythm awareness, dynamic control, articulation, pedal technique, and musical phrasing. Lessons are structured so that technique and expression develop together, allowing students to feel connected to the sound they create. I use real-time rhythm training, guided repetition, duet playing, and practical exercises to help learners internalise timing and musical flow rather than relying only on visual reading.
Each lesson is adapted carefully to the learner’s level and goals. Beginners build confidence through simple patterns, steady rhythm work, relaxed posture, and reading clarity. Intermediate students develop coordination between hands, smoother transitions, expressive dynamics, and stronger rhythmic accuracy. Advanced learners focus on tone balance, stylistic interpretation, ensemble skills, performance readiness, and deeper musical expression. I create a calm, encouraging environment where progress feels achievable and enjoyable.
The purpose of my piano lessons is to help students feel comfortable, confident, and expressive at the keyboard. Musical fluency grows naturally when learners understand how technique supports expression. Over time, students gain independence, confidence, and a joyful connection to music that stays with them beyond the lesson.
