About Cleo
My passion for piano began with a fascination for harmony, melody, and the emotional depth music can communicate. This interest encouraged me to complete a Bachelor’s Degree in Music followed by a Master’s Degree in Instrumental Piano Studies. Over the past 8 years, I have guided students through piano development using patient teaching and supportive instruction. I enjoy simplifying difficult musical concepts into manageable lessons that help students build confidence steadily. Watching students improve their musical expression and technical ability continues motivating me as a tutor. My teaching philosophy focuses on creativity, understanding, and supportive learning instead of pressure or perfection. I believe students learn best when they feel comfortable exploring music openly.
Throughout my teaching experience, I have worked with beginners, hobby musicians, and advanced learners preparing for performances and music examinations. These experiences have helped me understand the importance of flexibility and patience when supporting different learning styles. I use demonstrations, guided exercises, and structured repetition methods to help students progress steadily without feeling overwhelmed. I also encourage learners to develop their own musical voice naturally through exploration and practice. Students often appreciate my calm and encouraging teaching style because it helps them remain motivated during lessons. My goal is to create a positive learning environment where students feel inspired to improve confidently.
Outside teaching, I enjoy composing music, accompanying singers, and exploring different piano traditions that continue expanding my musical understanding. These interests help me bring creativity and practical musical insight into my lessons. I believe music education should strengthen both technical ability and emotional expression. Over the years, I have seen many students transform from uncertain beginners into expressive and confident pianists. Helping students discover confidence in their musical abilities remains one of the most rewarding aspects of my career. I aim to support every learner with patience, clarity, and encouragement throughout their musical journey.

My teaching approach focuses on helping learners build strong musical foundations while encouraging confidence and individuality in every lesson. I teach subjects such as note reading, rhythm control, scales, finger independence, chord progressions, improvisation, sight reading, and musical dynamics using simple explanations and practical exercises. Every lesson is designed to feel interactive, structured, and supportive so students can progress comfortably at their own pace. Beginners receive patient guidance with hand coordination, posture, and rhythm awareness. Intermediate learners strengthen phrasing, reading fluency, and technical control. Advanced students focus on expressive interpretation, performance refinement, and advanced repertoire study. I encourage students to enjoy music while developing discipline and creativity naturally. My goal is to make piano lessons engaging, expressive, and rewarding for every learner.
I focus strongly on helping students understand the musical purpose behind techniques instead of memorizing notes mechanically without meaning. Difficult concepts are explained through guided repetition and structured exercises that help learners remain calm and motivated during lessons. Students also learn how timing, touch, and emotional interpretation work together to create expressive performances. Practice routines are adjusted according to the student’s learning pace and musical goals so improvement remains balanced and encouraging. I include duet activities, ear training, and improvisation exercises regularly to make lessons engaging and memorable. My teaching style combines patience, structure, and positive encouragement throughout every session. I want students to feel confident expressing themselves naturally through piano music.

Through supportive teaching and regular practice, learners become more comfortable performing and developing their musical identity confidently. I support students preparing for auditions, examinations, performances, and personal musical goals through focused instruction and practical activities.
