About Alexis
I began musical theatre at 10 years old and attended a magnet school in the US that focused on music theory, history, piano and chamber choir. As an adult, I started my undergraduate degree in Music and Piano in college for one year, but I ultimately changed my degree and focused on Political Science instead.
10 years and one child later, I have gone back to my roots and begun teaching beginner students the skills that I've learned both as a musician and a mother. I am currently seeking a CME (Certificate in Music Education) from the ABRSM.
I have experience working with neurodivergent (ADHD,autistic) children in a modified teaching capacity.

My classes are on hour in length and I teach from ages 5 and up at €25/hr
In my classes I focus on fun and creative ways to read and comprehend music that include arts and crafts, flash cards and online games and videos to supplement our time sitting down at the piano, depending on the ager of my student. Each of my classes are student-led, in that each student has very different needs and methods of learning that do not always fit in the rigidity of traditional piano lessons.
In my lessons that include both piano and voice, we do our best to split the time evenly, and gradually hope each student can accompany themselves on the piano while they sing.
I teach private lessons in my home in Navan or virtually from anywhere in the world (I do not teach Solfege, therefore it is advised only to take lessons if you are from UK/IE/CAN/US/AUS as the other European style of learning piano is different)
