About Jovie
I completed a PhD in Piano Performance and Musical Arts after years of advanced study in composition, instrumental interpretation, and performance techniques during my academic journey. Over the past 13 years, I have guided students from many different backgrounds and skill levels, helping them improve through personalised instruction and supportive mentorship. Teaching piano allows me to combine creativity, communication, and artistic expression in a deeply meaningful way. I enjoy helping learners become more confident musicians through engaging and practical lessons.
My teaching style focuses on adaptability, patience, and balanced musical development. Some students improve best through structured technical repetition, while others respond more naturally to improvisation and creative exploration. I carefully adjust lessons according to each learner’s confidence level, comfort, and artistic goals. Along with technical development, I help students strengthen rhythm awareness, listening ability, expressive playing, and performance readiness. Building a welcoming and encouraging learning atmosphere remains one of my highest priorities as a teacher.
Outside teaching, I continue practising piano, exploring different musical styles, and studying educational approaches that help keep lessons inspiring and engaging. Music remains an important source of creativity and emotional expression in my life. One of the most rewarding parts of teaching is seeing students become more expressive and self-assured throughout their musical journey.

My piano lessons are designed to help students strengthen technical ability while building creativity and musical understanding through organised and supportive instruction. I teach rhythm control, note reading, finger independence, hand coordination, expressive phrasing, and dynamic balance using practical exercises that feel approachable for learners at every stage. Lessons also include improvisation tasks, sight-reading practice, ear training, duet activities, and timing exercises that help students improve naturally through regular repetition. I create a positive learning environment where students feel comfortable exploring music while developing strong technical foundations. Every lesson supports both musical growth and artistic individuality together.
Beginners focus on keyboard familiarity, posture, scales, and simple melodies through patient instruction and structured routines that build healthy playing habits gradually. Intermediate learners improve smoother transitions, coordination between both hands, expressive timing, and rhythmic consistency through guided studies and practical exercises. Advanced students strengthen emotional interpretation, advanced repertoire, stage confidence, and performance preparation through detailed coaching sessions. I carefully adapt lessons according to each learner’s pace, personality, and musical goals so progress remains balanced and motivating throughout the learning process.
Learning piano should feel meaningful, creative, and rewarding. I encourage students to appreciate steady improvement while building confidence through supportive feedback and regular practice. Many learners become more expressive and independent as their musical understanding develops naturally over time. My goal is to help students strengthen both technical skill and artistic confidence while creating a lasting connection with music.
