About Shonda
Contemporary piano players often seek a bridge between simple chord charts and expressive, fluid performance. Having taught 140 students since finishing my BS Music Industry degree at USC Thornton School of Music, I understand how to simplify the path to musical fluency.
My 12 years of experience started with a focus on songwriting and piano, which informs my belief that music is about storytelling rather than just reading dots on a page. We move through sight playing, sight transposition, and chord voicing to ensure you have the tools to play what you hear. Pedaling technique is refined until it becomes an extension of your own musical voice. I aim to keep the experience calm and supportive, letting the music speak for itself.
