About Shantelle
Beginners and advanced pupils often arrive at my studio with a desire to connect deeper with their instrument. Truthfully, I find that my own early recital at age 9 still informs the patience I offer to those navigating their first scales. Developing hand independence and proper posture remains the bedrock of my technique.
I weave together sight reading, chord voicing, and theory to ensure your musical voice develops alongside 13 years of technical refinement. You might find it quite rewarding to explore jazz improvisation or memorization techniques in our time together.

Custom sheet music arrangements for songs students choose provide a tactile point of entry into complex harmonic structures. The crisp sound of a well articulated arpeggio serves as the blueprint for our structural analysis during these 60 minute sessions.
My DMA from Eastman shapes the way I approach dynamics and expression. We prioritize the marriage of performance and theory from grade 3 onward to build a complete musician. This holistic method makes the hard work of practice feel genuinely satisfying and clear.
