About Iven
I am a piano tutor with 7 years of experience and a B.Mus in Piano Performance along with an M.Mus in Music Education. I specialize in developing technical mastery, expressive interpretation, and ensemble performance. I guide beginners through foundational technique and repertoire, intermediate learners through expressive phrasing and musical development, and advanced learners through complex repertoire, improvisation, and ensemble work. Lessons integrate exercises, repertoire practice, creative exploration, and performance coaching. My teaching approach is student-focused, adaptive, and encouraging. Beginners build foundational skills, intermediate learners refine phrasing and interpretation, and advanced learners develop stylistic nuance, ensemble collaboration, and performance confidence. Feedback is continuous, constructive, and personalized. Lessons balance technical skill, musicality, and expressive growth. Outside teaching, I perform, study repertoire, and mentor students for recitals and ensemble events. Teaching piano allows me to witness learners grow in skill, musical expression, and confidence. My mission is to cultivate pianists who are expressive, versatile, and inspired to pursue music creatively throughout their lives.

Intermediate learners refine phrasing, sight-reading, harmonic analysis, improvisation, and expressive nuance. Advanced learners explore complex repertoire, stylistic interpretation, ensemble performance, improvisation, and stage preparation. Lessons combine technical exercises, creative exploration, performance simulations, and personalized feedback to ensure steady skill growth.
Lesson structure is tailored to each learner’s level. Beginners focus on hand positioning, finger exercises, and basic melodies. Intermediate learners refine phrasing, rhythm, sight-reading, and musical interpretation. Advanced learners explore challenging repertoire, improvisation, ensemble collaboration, and performance readiness. Exercises include technique drills, repertoire study, duet work, and mock performances. Feedback emphasizes technical accuracy, expressive depth, and musical sensitivity.
