About Ava

I have 11 years of experience teaching piano, supported by a Master of Music in Piano Performance and Pedagogy. My passion for piano comes from its ability to convey emotion, tell stories, and connect deeply with both performers and audiences. I have guided students from beginners mastering fundamentals to advanced learners refining interpretive skills and preparing for recitals, auditions, and ensemble performance. Teaching piano allows me to combine technical rigor with expressive guidance, helping students achieve both competence and artistry.

My teaching philosophy emphasizes structure, encouragement, and personalized learning. Lessons integrate technique, theory, repertoire, and musical expression, providing students with a comprehensive and motivating learning experience. I provide individualized feedback, targeted exercises, and creative projects that support both technical mastery and musical growth, ensuring learners develop confidence and independence at every stage.

Beyond the classroom, I remain actively engaged with performance, repertoire study, and pedagogy research. This allows me to bring fresh, relevant insights into lessons, keeping them dynamic and inspiring. Witnessing students grow in technique, musicality, and confidence is deeply rewarding. About the lesson

Learning piano becomes meaningful when students combine technical skill with musical expression and interpretive insight. In my lessons, I emphasize finger independence, posture, sight-reading, scales, arpeggios, chord knowledge, musical phrasing, dynamics, and expressive performance. Each session is structured to foster confidence, technique, and a sense of accomplishment, providing a supportive environment where learners can explore repertoire, develop musicality, and cultivate their unique voice.

Lesson content is adapted to each student’s proficiency and goals. Beginners focus on foundational techniques including hand positioning, finger exercises, simple pieces, and rhythm training. Intermediate students refine technique, sight-reading, expressive phrasing, and repertoire complexity. Advanced learners develop interpretive depth, nuanced dynamics, improvisation, advanced repertoire, ensemble skills, and performance readiness. Constructive feedback, stepwise progression, and musical exploration ensure steady, meaningful growth for every learner.

Over time, piano lessons help students build both technical mastery and expressive artistry. Learners gain confidence performing solo and in ensembles, interpreting music emotionally, and exploring creative expression. The piano becomes a tool for lifelong artistic development, personal satisfaction, and creative fulfillment.
