About Thea
I hold a Bachelor’s in Piano Performance and a Master’s in Music Pedagogy, with 8 years of experience teaching piano to students of all ages and skill levels. My approach integrates technical exercises, repertoire development, improvisation, and ensemble collaboration to create a balanced and enriching learning experience. I believe each student is unique, and I tailor lessons to individual strengths, needs, and learning pace.
In my teaching, I focus on building solid technique, musical understanding, and expressive capability. I incorporate sight-reading, finger independence exercises, rhythm training, and group or duet work to enhance collaboration and engagement. Lessons also foster creativity and confidence, helping students feel comfortable performing in various settings.
Outside the classroom, I actively perform, attend masterclasses, and explore new repertoire to continuously refine my teaching and musicianship. Witnessing students grow in confidence, skill, and artistic expression is deeply rewarding. I am committed to helping learners develop a lifelong love for piano and music while achieving their personal and musical goals.

Piano lessons are most effective when they combine technical development with musical expression, creativity, and enjoyment. In my lessons, students work on finger independence, reading fluency, rhythm accuracy, dynamics, and interpretation. I create an encouraging environment where learners feel safe experimenting with sound, developing improvisation skills, and exploring diverse genres from classical to contemporary music. Each session is carefully planned to build both technical mastery and expressive musicality.
Beginners focus on posture, hand coordination, simple scales, basic sight-reading, and short repertoire pieces to establish a solid foundation. Intermediate learners explore chord progressions, articulation, phrasing, and ensemble playing through duets and small group pieces. Advanced students refine complex repertoire, expressive nuances, interpretation, and performance techniques. Each lesson includes exercises, guided practice, and personalized feedback to ensure steady progress.
Piano lessons also cultivate discipline, concentration, and emotional connection to music. Students develop confidence to perform solo or with others, aural awareness, and creative thinking. My goal is to help learners experience joy in making music, strengthen technical ability, and develop the confidence to express themselves fully through the piano.
