About Sia
I have been passionate about piano since childhood, earning a B.Mus in Piano Performance and an M.Mus in Piano Pedagogy. Over 8 years, I have taught students of all levels, helping them develop technical skills, musicality, and performance confidence. My teaching philosophy emphasizes individualized instruction, patience, and creativity. I guide learners through exercises, repertoire, and musical interpretation, encouraging exploration and personal expression. I foster an environment where students feel supported, motivated, and confident. Outside teaching, I engage in performance, ensemble collaboration, and continuing study of music theory and repertoire. Teaching piano is deeply fulfilling because I witness students transform skill and understanding into expressive, confident music-making.

Piano lessons become most effective when students combine technique, musicality, and expression. My sessions cover posture, hand coordination, scales, sight-reading, improvisation, and repertoire, designed to build both technical proficiency and artistic interpretation. I emphasize structured exercises, consistent practice, and thoughtful guidance, ensuring students progress steadily while exploring their personal musical voice.
Beginners focus on hand positioning, basic scales, simple songs, and rhythm exercises to build a solid foundation. Intermediate learners expand their skills with advanced scales, chords, expressive phrasing, and ensemble playing. Advanced students refine technical mastery, interpretive nuance, and performance preparation, readying themselves for recitals, competitions, or higher study. Each lesson integrates individualized guidance, constructive feedback, and motivational techniques to foster growth and confidence.
Piano lessons also develop discipline, patience, and cognitive skills. Students learn to interpret music, express emotion, and approach challenges with perseverance. My goal is to cultivate both technical excellence and artistic joy, helping students enjoy the piano as a lifelong creative outlet.
