About Yan Xin
Hi, I’m Yan! A passionate pianist, music scholar, and educator with a deep love for sharing the joy of music. I hold a Distinction in Trinity ATCL (Advanced Piano Performance) and a Bachelor’s in Classical Music (Piano Major, Violin Minor). I’ve also completed a Master’s in Musicology and am currently pursuing a PhD in Ethnomusicology, where I explore the fascinating connections between music, culture, and history. My academic training includes piano pedagogy, piano literature, and teaching principles, equipping me to address challenges like hand coordination, rhythm, and musical expression. I’ve always loved how music brings people together and helps us express ourselves in unique ways. Teaching allows me to share that joy while helping students build confidence, develop new skills, and achieve their goals—whether that’s playing their favourite song, acing an exam, or simply enjoying the process of learning. Aural Skills: Fun ear-training activities to sharpen your listening skills and enhance your overall musicianship.
